Stage 1: Charting the Course (10 sessions)

This stand-alone package helps individuals through the discovery phase of understanding and leveraging their unique capability, skills, values and strengths. The coach works with the client to employ new skills that enhance his/her ability to problem solve, achieve clarity in dynamic and complex situations and relate to others in a way that invites collaboration and support. These sessions also address critical gap areas and support the leader in experimenting with behavioural strategies. The individual will complete Stage 1 with a clearer personal vision and comprehension of self-coaching skills that will encourage ongoing authentic leadership.

Charting the Course includes the following:

  • Meeting with client to obtain comprehensive understanding of client’s coaching objectives.
  • Meeting with sponsor (manager and/or HR leader) to understand broader organizational (or functional) context and performance objectives for client .
  • Meeting with coach, client and sponsor to determine the client’s coaching objectives, independently and together.
  • One 90 minute intake session with client, including review of VIA Signature Strengths Inventory.
  • 9-50 minute coaching sessions, in person or by telephone.
  • One free 30 minute ‘life line’ coaching session.
  • One follow up meeting with client, sponsor and coach to reassess and recalibrate against objectives, leaving client with personal development plan following coaching engagement.
